The National Museum of Romanian Literature invites you to a meeting with Dinu Flămând, the poet, translator, journalist, and diplomat of Romanian origin from France. The event will host two meetings: on Wednesday, June 28th, at 4:00 PM, and on Thursday, June 29th, at 6:15 PM.
On Wednesday, June 28th, at 4:00 PM, in the Yellow Hall of the National Museum of Romanian Literature, an evening of debates will take place with the theme “Forms of Self-expression – Poetry and Translation, Journalism and Diplomacy,” moderated by the museum director, Maria Șleahtițchi.
On Thursday, June 29th, at 6:15 PM, at the Central Bookstore, there will be an “Evening of Poetry with Dinu Flămând: Readings and Dialogue,” moderated by the Editor-in-Chief of Cartier Publishing House, Emilian Galaicu-Păun.
Dinu Flămând (born on June 24th, 1947, in Susenii Bârgăului, Bistrița-Năsăud, Romania) is a poet, essayist, and translator. He worked as a French journalist and diplomat. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Babeș-Bolyai University and was a founding member of the literary circle and magazine “Echinox.” In the 1980s, he left Romania and took refuge in Paris, denouncing the communist regime in Romania. He resided in France until 2010 and held positions in Romanian diplomacy. As a poet and translator, he has been awarded several national and international prizes.
