The Moldova-based organization Copil, Comunitate, Familie (CCF) has launched the ninth edition of the “Rostul Postului” campaign, a project aimed at helping children from families facing extreme poverty. The campaign’s goal is to mobilize resources for the children, especially during Lent, providing them not only with food and necessary items but also with opportunities to overcome poverty, according to IPN.
The campaign launch in Chisinau saw participation from representatives of CCF Moldova, event supporters, and public figures.
“The ‘Rostul Postului’ campaign remains crucial, given that nearly 44% of children in rural areas live in absolute poverty,” stated CCF President Liliana Rotaru.
An emotional moment during the event symbolized extreme poverty through an empty plate, representing the meager meals of many children in the country.

The campaign organizers presented the case of a three-year-old girl found by a social worker eating an unpeeled onion, illustrating the tragic reality faced by many children growing up in precarious conditions.
According to the organizers, “Rostul Postului” is not just a material aid campaign but also an opportunity to provide trustworthy and lasting support through education and development. The campaign will use the donations collected to provide food, hygiene products, clothing, and resources for the development of vulnerable families. The ultimate goal is to prevent children from being separated from their families and to offer them a better future.
The campaign will run until April 19 and can be supported via the online platform www.rostulpostului.md. Here, individuals can donate the equivalent of the meals they would have consumed during Lent.
