Three social enterprises from our country received awards at the Moldovan Business Gala. We are talking about the Information Technology and Robotics Center “Vibe Academy,” where children learn how to use computers, create games, and program robots from lego parts; the social integration enterprise “Floare de Cires” SRL in Razeni, Ialoveni district, specialized in catering and cooking services, where most of the employees are people with disabilities trained as waiters and kitchen assistants; and “INVALIFE” Tiraspol, a modern physical rehabilitation center that helps people to recover from injuries, surgeries, congenital neurological diseases or strokes.
All three social enterprises received grants of 37,500 euros from the European Union and Sweden through the East European Foundation. Thanks to the funds received, the entrepreneurs were able to develop their businesses, create jobs, develop their communities, and promote social entrepreneurship.
The trophies were presented to the three social entrepreneurs by the director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergiu Harea, EU Ambassador to Moldova Janis Mazeiks, Swedish Ambassador to Moldova, Katarina Fried, and the president of the Eastern Europe Fund, Sorin Mereacre.
