The US Deputy Trade Representative and head of the American delegation, James White, has arrived in Moldova for the sixth meeting of the Moldovan-American Joint Committee on Commercial and Economic Cooperation (JCC), which will take place on March 28th. During his visit, White met with officials at the Executive branch to discuss opportunities to boost trade and attract American investors to the country.
The meeting emphasized the need to strengthen economic ties and increase exports of Moldovan products to the US market. Prime Minister Dorin Recean outlined the government’s priorities for economic development in the country, as well as the opportunities available for American companies in various sectors, including agriculture, creative industries, research and innovation, medical, and IT industries.
“We encourage foreign investors to come to Moldova because there are many possibilities in various fields. The Cabinet of Ministers is making concerted efforts to create platforms and favorable conditions for investors, to maintain stability in the country, and to increase resilience,” said the Prime Minister.

For his part, Ambassador James White noted the efforts made by Moldova to develop infrastructure and initiate economic reforms. He also highlighted the openness of American partners to deepen commercial and economic cooperation between the US and Moldova.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in organizing an economic forum in Chisinau with the participation of American companies operating in the region. This would help to further enhance cooperation and build stronger economic ties between Moldova and the US.
