Children up to 2 years of age will benefit from a higher allowance

All children up to the age of 2 will benefit from a monthly allowance of 1,000 lei, regardless of whether their parents are insured or uninsured. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the amendment of the Law on social benefits for children, in order to support and ensure the well-being of children and families with children.

“Thus, socially insured people will get a monthly allowance of 1000 lei, until their children reach the age of 2, in addition to the childcare allowance they currently receive. In the case of uninsured persons, the monthly allowance granted until the child is 2 years old will be increased by 260 lei, from 740 to 1000 lei”, the Government announces.

For the implementation of the project, financial means in the amount of about 76 million lei were provided in the state budget. According to the estimates of the National Social Insurance House, in the current year, more than 63,000 people will benefit from these social benefits.
