A commission in Chisinau is evaluating whether to provide the separatists with 3 million cubic meters of gas on credit. The self-proclaimed authorities claim that Tiraspol must either return the gas or pay for it.
“This is necessary because the gas reserves saved by suspending energy-intensive industrial enterprises at the end of December are depleting, and we will run out by the first days of February. Transnistria is relying on a positive decision from the relevant commission, which is currently analyzing the loan of 3 million cubic meters of gas,” the self-proclaimed regional administration stated.
Realitatea requested official information from Chisinau authorities. At the time of publication, officials had neither confirmed nor denied the information released by the Transnistrians.
