The Chisinau Court of First Instance has rejected the petition of Bashkan Eugenia Gutsul against Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu in a case of defense of honor and dignity. The reason for the rejection was the failure to comply with procedural requirements: the complaint was filed by e-mail without the necessary signature of the applicant. Judge Angela Ciubotaru pointed out the possibility of resubmitting the document after correcting the defects.
Eugenia Gutsul appealed to the court after Igor Grosu’s statements on Pro TV Chisinau, where he spoke about the impossibility of including Gutsul in the government, noting that “the law does not provide for bandits to become members of the government.”
It is not the first court case initiated by Eugenia Gutsul. On May 8, she filed a lawsuit against President Maia Sandu, accusing her of defamation and demanding a public apology for damage to her reputation after Sandu’s remarks at a March 18 press conference.
