Russia is trying to amplify attempts to destabilize Moldova in Georgia, the German Foreign Minister declares. Annalena Baerbock, quoted by TASS, states that this is the Kremlin’s strategy to influence the European path of these countries.
The official from Berlin mentions in an interview for the Spanish publication El Pais that Germany supports the desire of Moldova and Georgia to become European states
“This is part of Russia’s strategy to destabilize societies following the European path. Russia’s attempts to exert influence in Moldova and Georgia are intensifying. We support their desire to live in peace and freedom, through the prospect of joining the European Union,” said Baerbock, when asked about the risks of Tbilisi and Chisinau colluding with the Russian Federation.
We specify that, on Monday, at the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers, possible destabilization in the Republic of Moldova is discussed. Bogdan Aurescu reiterated before the meeting that our country needs support.
