Moldova and Israel will convert each other’s driving licenses. The government has approved the agreement signed by Ambassador Roitman and Tel Aviv administration officials and will submit it to Parliament for information.
The decision will enter into force after publication in the Official Monitor. Through the document, the Moldovan and Israeli authorities aim to facilitate international traffic between the two countries.
“The agreement in question aims to extend the friendly relations between the Parties in the mutual recognition of driving licenses. The aim is to facilitate road traffic in the two States, taking into account that they are Parties to the Convention on Road Traffic of 8 November 1968 and intend to ensure mutual recognition and facilitate the conversion of driving licenses issued in the Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel,” the document reads.

The agreement was signed in March 2024 by the Moldovan Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Alex Roitman, and the Minister of Transport and Road Safety of the State of Israel, Miri Regev.
According to the stipulated provisions, each of the two countries will mutually recognize driving licenses issued by the other country’s authorities, by national rules, for holders of driving licenses who obtain residency.
