More than 420 million euros were transferred to the state budget after the three conferences of the Support Platform for Moldova, the Ministry of Finance announces.
Thus, the Republic of Moldova managed to mobilize external sources for direct budget support from development partners in the equivalent amount of 13.72 billion lei (approx. 671 million euros), with 8.64 billion lei (approx. 422.9 million . euro) more than was planned at the beginning of the budget year.
55.1 million euros and 33.2 million US dollars came from the IMF, from the World Bank – 101.3 million euros and 9.24 million US dollars, from the European Commission – 75.0 million. euros, from the French Development Agency – 75.0 million euros, the Government of Germany – 40.0 million euros, the Government of Romania – 10.49 million euros and the Government of Poland – 20 million euros.
Also, in the special account opened by the Ministry of Finance for the collection of financial donations intended for humanitarian assistance for the management of the refugee crisis in Ukraine, the amount equivalent to approx. 199.7 million lei, including from the Governments of Switzerland (3.2 million USD), Sweden (3.66 million euros), Lithuania (3.25 million euros), Slovakia (0.1 million euros) and Estonia (0.1 million euros).

Additionally, by the end of the year, financial means for non-reimbursable budgetary support are expected in the state budget from: (i) the US Government – 30 million US dollars and (ii) the Government of Norway – 14.0 million US dollars, resources which will be channeled through the Trust Fund established by the World Bank.
For the year 2023, it was possible to mobilize external financial assistance for budget support in the amount of 16.87 billion lei (including 25.6% – non-reimbursable resources), of which approx. 160.5 million euros (about 3.3 billion lei) are financial commitments announced during the Paris Conference (November 21, 2022).
During the three Ministerial Conferences “Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova” (Bucharest, Berlin, Paris), development partners announced financial and humanitarian commitments for our country equivalent to approx. 1.4 billion euros, to be allocated and capitalized in the coming years.

We specify that a significant part of the support announced within the “Support Platform for Moldova” is not managed by the Government, but by UN agencies and private sector beneficiaries of various investment projects and guarantee schemes. At the same time, some external creditors, such as EIB, EBRD, World Bank, CEB, etc., have expressed their intention to provide support for infrastructure investment projects for the coming years, which will contribute to strengthening the resilience of our state.
