The National Army of Moldova will hold a multinational exercise – “Peace Shield 2024,” from June 17 to June 28 this year. The Ministry of Defense reports this.
The Ministry of Defense also plans to move military equipment from the places of permanent deployment to the National Army Training Center.
The purpose of the exercise is to assess the training of the 22nd Blue Helmets peacekeeping battalion by the Concept of Operational Capabilities (COC).
National and international experts will test the military in patrolling, convoying, vehicle inspection at checkpoints, security of strategic sites, medical evacuation, etc.

The National Army will also conduct training courses for evaluators. Approximately 40 appraisers from Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, South Korea, France, Georgia, Germany, Jordan, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Great Britain, Morocco, Romania, Serbia, USA, Tunisia, Turkey, and Ukraine will undergo training.
The course completion is a prerequisite for the participation of the National Army in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the UN, including KFOR in Kosovo and UNIFIL in Lebanon.
The National Army joined the program in 2007.
