As from August 15, currently, the Moldovan military will participate in the Peacekeeping Mission in the Republic of Lebanon – the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Such an announcement made the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, on social media.
He also stated that negotiations are underway with the EU regarding the participation of the Moldovan military in the mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Likewise, he also mentioned that the National Army is ready to deploy a contingent of gensists for post-conflict demining missions in Ukraine.
According to Anatolie Nosatîi, in the last year, efforts were made to intensify the participation of the Republic of Moldova in peacekeeping and humanitarian missions, thus increasing the state’s credibility as a security provider.

Moreover, the defense minister pointed out that among the achievements is the relaunch of bilateral cooperation with the defense institutions of the neighboring states and the EU member states and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. According to him, as a result of these collaborations, through the European Instrument for Peace (EPF European Peace Facility) in 2021, seven million euros were allocated to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova for equipping demining teams, a mobile medical detachment, such as and three medical points within the military units of the National Army.
In the same context, for the year 2022, 40 million euros were approved for the implementation of projects related to the procurement of logistics equipment, military vehicles, communications equipment, cyber defense, and radio stations.
