The British Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, announced a new package of financial support. Its value is 10 million pounds.
The money is to be directed to good governance, economic development, and the energy sector claims Nicu Popescu. According to minister Popescu, the United Kingdom is one of the top 10 economic partners of the Republic of Moldova.
“We propose to liberalize export tariffs for several Moldovan exports to Great Britain: apples, plums, grapes, cherries, juice, tomatoes, and garlic. We have a strong partnership in the fields of IT, telecommunications, and creative industries and we want to extend it to the car manufacturing, electronics, renewable energy, fintech, and tourism industries”, claims Nicu Popescu.
Moldova aims to intensify cooperation with Great Britain in combating corruption and bringing to justice those who have harmed the state. In this sense, I welcomed the recent sanctioning by Great Britain of the two Moldavian fugitives announced as wanted internationally.
