The Minister of Interior Adrian Efros stressed the importance of the event: “If until now the Republic of Moldova has aligned itself in the field of legislative harmonization in step with the large-scale IT systems of the EU, now we already have EU Lisa specialists present in our country, and this on the one hand means an even greater rapprochement of our country with the EU, and on the other hand shows the trust given by the European agencies to the authorities of our country.”

The Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Janis Mazeiks, said, “To streamline the implementation of EU policies in justice and home affairs, eu-LISA, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security, and Justice, has set up and manages the IT systems. Thanks to the proper functioning of the systems managed by EU-LISA, EU citizens can travel freely in all EU Member States without compromising Europe’s security. In the context of Moldova’s status as an EU candidate country, the European Union will provide Moldova with the necessary support, including the best IT solutions integration in justice and home affairs.”

This operational meeting was a great opportunity for the Republic of Moldova to discuss and partner with European experts on large-scale IT systems integration and optimization. These systems are fundamental for strengthening internal security and efficient the Republic of Moldova border management.
