The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to Provide €150 Million Loan for ‘Moldova V’ Road Rehabilitation Project
In this regard, a loan agreement of €150 million is set to be signed with the Republic of Moldova, representing 50% of the total project co-financing, with the other half to be provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The funds are allocated for the rehabilitation and modernization of the R2 road, sector 2 of the Chisinau city beltway, by expanding it to four lanes, covering an estimated length of approximately 7 km.
Additionally, the project aims to rehabilitate around 85 km of the M1 road, from the border with Romania – Leușeni – Chisinau – Dubăsari – to the border with Ukraine.
