Romanian MEP Siegfried Mureșan announced on his Facebook page that the allocations for the Republic of Moldova in the EU Budget for 2023 have increased.
“Starting from the proposal of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, the agreement between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union regarding the 2023 EU Budget includes an increase of 210 million euros in allocations to support the countries of the Eastern Neighborhood, including the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, in addition, compared to any other existing or announced packages”, states Siegfried MureČ™an.
The MEP also announced that this money can be used for investments in the modernization of schools and hospitals, but also for the management of the crisis generated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the implementation of reforms necessary for European integration.

“The Republic of Moldova is a candidate state and will become a member state of the European Union. We need to increase support for Moldova in the coming years to help them overcome the crises they are facing and prepare for joining the European Union”, the MEP also pointed out.
