President Maia Sandu greeted today Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, H.E. Uldis Mikuts, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in the Republic of Moldova. The head of state appreciated the strong friendship between our countries and thanked the diplomat for his efforts in enhancing bilateral cooperation.
During Ambassador Mikuts’ tenure, the Republic of Moldova was visited by President Egils Levits, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš, and Speaker of the Saeima (Parliament) Edvards Smiltēns.
The head of state emphasized that the visits of Latvia’s high-ranking officials contribute to strengthening the relationship between our countries and represent an important signal of support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova. Our country relies on Latvia’s support for the upcoming steps in our process of joining the European Union.
Additionally, the President expressed gratitude for Latvia’s ongoing prioritization of the Republic of Moldova in providing external development assistance over the years.
