On Wednesday, July 26, Igor Grosu, the President of the Moldovan Parliament, had a meeting with Kent Longsdon, the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova. During the meeting, officials discussed the country’s European integration path and the parliamentary agenda.
“In our recent visit to the USA, the Moldovan delegation felt the full support and friendship extended to our country from the United States. I was delighted to learn that Moldova is increasingly being recognized in the USA as a model of a country advancing on the path of democratization. We will continue on this path to justify the trust bestowed upon us by our citizens and development partners,” stated Igor Grosu to Ambassador Kent Longsdon.

The parliamentary leader informed the American diplomat that the Parliament is set to ratify the 15th Amendment of the Assistance Agreement on the Development Objective between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the US Government, in its second reading. The $220 million grant from the USA will be utilized for investments in the energy sector.
“I express my gratitude to the US Government for the consistent assistance provided to our country,” concluded the Speaker of the Parliament.
