On Thursday, the trilateral defense meeting among Romania, the United States, and Moldova was held, with the participation of representatives from the United Kingdom. The meeting marked a significant event as it was organized for the first time. The officials discussed Moldova’s resilience to hybrid threats, propaganda campaigns, and disinformation launched by the Russian Federation. Romania declared its strategic priority to support its neighboring country in consolidating defense capacities and resilience against such threats.
During the meeting, Simona Cojocaru, the Secretary of State for the Romanian Ministry of Defense, thanked the United States for supporting the Republic of Moldova. She emphasized the need for unity, determination, and creativity in identifying the best and quickest solutions to support partners in the region. Cojocaru also praised the professionalism and determination of the Moldovan authorities in advancing reforms that lead to increasing resilience.

“Support demonstrated today by Romania, the United States, and the United Kingdom shows very clearly that the Republic of Moldova is not alone in this process,” said Cojocaru.

The country is determined to advance reforms that increase resilience and consolidate defense capacities against such threats. The trilateral meeting aims to support Moldova in its efforts towards this end.
